Bob Schmaltz, President

Bob Schmaltz, President
Bob has 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, including sales management, training, and product development for insurance, banking and retirement services companies. Bob founded FMS in 2002 and it has grown to support several thousand members with agents/planners in 12 states. He serves on Agent Advisory Councils for Medica and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, and is also on the board at St. Crispin Living Community/Benedictine Health System. He is also the founder of River Bluff Technologies which has developed an agent digital platform technology for the insurance and financial services industries.

Liz Rickert, Client Services Manager

Liz Rickert, Client Services Manager
Liz has been with FMS since 2013. Her previous experience includes advising agents as an Allianz Life Insurance representative, specializing in annuities, life insurance, and long-term care products. She earned her Business Administration degree from the University of San Diego, and is involved with a philanthropic women’s organization raising money for young women to continue their college education.

Tom Denzer, Client Services

Tom Denzer, Client Services
Tom and his wife Nancy have lived in Lake City, MN for 22 years. In that time, the two of them raised their two children. They also owned and operated the Lake City Dairy Queen for many years. Tom made a career change in 2014 and has been with FMS insurance Advisors ever since. In his free time, Tom enjoys spending time with family, visiting State Parks, attending Minnesota Wild games, and boating on the Mississippi River.

Celina Whaley, Client Services

Celina Whaley, Client Services
Celina joined FMS in April of 2019, Celina specializes in health insurance. She takes great pride in overall organization and helping clients save money. Celina is married with a daughter, a black lab and a cat. She is a Member/Ambassador with the Red Wing Chamber of Commerce. Celina grew up and still lives in Hager City, WI today. She loves camping in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, hanging with friends, trail riding on four wheelers, sitting by the campfire, and of course swimming and hanging out at the beach.

Heather Schulz, Controller/Office Manager

Heather Schulz, Controller/Office Manager
Heather received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management. She earned her CPA license and joined KPMG, LLP, a global accounting firm, where she spent several months in Dublin, Ireland helping implement new auditing practices. In August 2012, Heather became the Controller at FMS. Heather and her husband live in rural Red Wing and have 4 children. She stays busy with the various sports and activities in which her kids are involved. When she finds spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and coffee!

Coleen Thomas

Coleen Thomas, Client Services
Coleen joined FMS in August 2018 as a seasonal employee, helping with Medicare open enrollment. She has worked every season since then and in January 2021, she decided to join the FMS team as a full-time employee and became a licensed agent. She enjoys helping clients and meeting new people. Coleen lives in Red Wing with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside, reading, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends.

Denise Bargrain

Denise Bargrain, Contracting & Agency Support Specialist
Denise joined our team in August 2022 with previous work experience in customer service and project management. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management & Communication from Concordia University St. Paul. Denise and her husband live in Diamond Bluff, Wisconsin and have 2 sons, 3 grandsons and 2 Labrador retrievers. She loves taking long walks with her dogs, being outdoors and spending time on the boat with family & friends.

Tammy Johnson

Tammy Johnson, Agent
Tammy became a licensed agent in 2011 focusing primarily on Medicare Health Insurance. She truly enjoys meeting with clients and providing them with the information needed for selecting the right plan for them. Tammy originally joined FMS part-time in 2009. In 2019 she moved away, but remains a seasonal employee, coming back every fall to support the FMS team and their amazing clients. Tammy and her husband enjoy life as empty nesters, taking time to travel, attending concerts, and spending time with friends and family. She is a proud grandmother of two who always keep her laughing.
